They are students from universities with which we have a student mobility agreement, and they can join UCSP as exchange students as long as they are selected and endorsed by their home university. These students will enjoy the benefits specified in each specific agreement. The conditions, requirements, and application process must be sent directly from the home university to UCSP.
They are students from universities with which we do not have an agreement but who wish to have a semester-long academic experience at our university. These students must meet the application requirements, which should be sent to incoming@ucsp.edu.pe for admission by the DRIC. Once admitted, they can study at UCSP, assuming the academic costs. They can enroll in courses that interest them, representing up to a maximum of 22 credits per semester.

A San Pablo Pal is an experienced student who wishes to accompany the international student throughout their attendance at UCSP. As the Pals have been UCSP students for several semesters, they know very well the regulations and procedures of the university.
The San Pablo Pals have an invaluable perspective that contributes to a unique academic, social, cultural and sporting experience.
In this program the international student will experience, among other things, the warmth of being part of a Peruvian family.
All the members of this small and beautiful family speak to you as if they have known you forever, they give you confidence, just as they trust you. This semester I lived with Rachel G. from the USA, who is allergic to gluten and lactose; I know it is difficult to cook when there is someone who doesn’t eat everything, but, incredibly, we never had problems with food. They always took care of us, when we had to go to classes and when we were out with friends on the weekends. Thank you for being part of my family!

At least 3 working days before the beginning of the semester. Remember that the Welcome Day will take place 2 working days before the beginning of the semester in UCSP, that is designed only for our incoming students and for that date, you must already be in Arequipa because the attendance is mandatory.
The DRIC will be able to advice you but we cannot guarantee you accommodation, unless it is stipulated in an inter-institutional agreement with your home university by which you will have home-stay type accommodation, in a family house according (if possible) to your preferences.
Yes, this is possible with prior authorization from UCSP but remember that this does not lead to any degree or professional title at UCSP.
Yes, this is possible as long as the Requirements indicated in the Guide are met.
Yes, it is possible, in accordance with the requirements for “Visiting International Students”.
Yes, it is possible. But you will have to accept the general admission process of UCSP like the rest of the Peruvian students, with the exception of the “entrance exam” if you have a Certificate of Studies from your home university. In that case you will have to send the certificate to our institution with due anticipation and before the Semester Admission Process.
UCSP only offers semester courses.
These courses are given only in Spanish. Although you do not require a Spanish certificate, we recommend that students have an advanced level in order to be able to attend classes without having major comprehension problems.
In Peru, we call these documents “sílabos”. We recommend that you send us a list of the courses you would like to take this semester to incoming@ucsp.edu.pe and we will send them to you.
The requests of the contents of the courses must be made by the students by email to incoming@ucsp.edu.pe (DRIC).
Usually, the courses are given every semester, with a few exceptions. We advise you to send the lists of the courses you are interested in to the email, incoming@ucsp.edu.pe.
Remember that international students can choose courses of different levels and academic units depending on the availability of places. They must have a minimum of 16 academic credits throughout the semester.
The courses are spread over the day. They usually start at 7:00 and end at 21:15.
Keep in mind that UCSP teachers only tolerate a 5-minute delay before the start of classes.
You will have to start the authorization process for permanent extemporaneous evaluations.
Yes, you must attend classes. If you accumulate more than 30% non-attendance in one of them, you will not be able to take the final exam of this course.
UCSP grades on the vigesimal scale: from 00 to 20, the minimum passing grade is 11.5.
One academic credit is equivalent to one hour of theoretical class per week or at least two hours of practice per week. Our academic semester has a total of 17 weeks and the courses, and depending on their level of difficulty, can be 2, 3 or 4 credits.
The San Pablo PALs program is an international student support program composed of UCSP students who want to help you adapt to life on campus and in the city. Incoming students will be contacted by their pal before arriving in Arequipa, Peru.
Language courses are not part of the academic program, but the UCSP has its own off-campus language centre, where you can study English (each level lasts 4 months) and Portuguese on request.
You can register directly with the Language Centre, which offers certificates to anyone who needs them and a certificate once the program or level of the program has been completed. We invite you to consult ucsp.edu.pe/languages for more information.
If you are an exchange student (agreement) or an international student (visitor), you will receive a certificate of study from your home university.
Visiting foreign students studying less than one semester at UCSP will receive a recognition of participation issued by the director of the department concerned, which cannot be used for the validation and recognition of university credits at the home university. Certificates are issued only in Spanish.
