That year, the then-University of San Pablo offered the study programs in Business Administration and Accounting to society. By 1999, the Computer Engineering program was created, expanding the educational offerings and the opportunity to contribute to the training of engineers with high professional and human capacity in this field of knowledge.

On November 15, 1999, the University of San Pablo received the blessing of being recognized by the Church as a Catholic university through Archiepiscopal Decree No. 091-C-ARZ. Thus, this educational institution took the name San Pablo Catholic University.
In 2005, the Telecommunications Engineering program was launched. By 2004, the Industrial Engineering and Law programs were added, while in 2007, the Psychology and Education programs with specializations in Early Childhood and Primary Education were created.

In the ordinary session of September 12, 2003, the National Council for the Authorization of University Operations (Conafu) unanimously agreed to authorize the university’s definitive operation and grant it full autonomy according to Peruvian legislation. This unanimous decision from Conafu was documented in Resolution No. 184-2003-CONAFU on September 23, 2003, making UCSP the first university outside of Lima to be accredited by Conafu.

In 2006, UCSP changed its Computer Engineering program to Computer Science, aligning it with international standards. The curriculum was completely revised to fit the Computer Science profile according to the ACM/IEEE standard.

In 2014, UCSP launched the Civil Engineering program to meet the demand for professionals in this field in Arequipa and the country.
