Department of Industrial and Environmental Engineering

This department is an academic unit that offers undergraduate and graduate training in the areas of Industrial and Environmental Engineering. Its goal is to train people and professionals with integrity, leaders capable of applying technical knowledge, working in multidisciplinary teams and contributing to the development of fair and ethical societies.

The School of Industrial Engineering trains professionals with the ability to design, optimize and manage production systems, focused on efficiency, productivity and incorporation of cutting-edge technologies. The School of Environmental Engineering educates in the diagnosis and resolution of environmental problems, with emphasis on sustainability and conservation of the environment.

The department offers a Master’s Degree in Operations and Logistics Management. It seeks to train professionals capable of leading and managing production and logistics processes in an efficient and sustainable manner. It also offers extension and continuing education courses in Industrial Engineering, Environment, Safety, Maintenance, among other subjects.

It has the Institute of Engineering and Environment (IIEM); and the Science, Technology and Environment (CTA) research group, which develops research on topics of industrial and environmental interest. The department promotes projects that link academia with the needs of vulnerable populations and society as a whole.
