This department has the goal of being a reference in the southern region in terms of legal research. It also aims to develop a service and projection to society with the legal clinic, a mechanism to support the learning of future lawyers, from real cases of social impact.
It has a law degree, which trains lawyers capable of working in private and public law, with a realistic, logical and critical legal mentality, and the ability to propose solutions. In addition, graduates handle information sources and focus their research on the argumentation and application of law.
In postgraduate studies, it offers master’s degrees in Public Management and Public Policy; Business Law; Administrative Law and Regulation, as well as Criminal Law. It also offers important diploma courses such as Territorial Planning and Public Administration, Public Environmental Management, Business Taxation and Tax Management.
In research, the José Luis Bustamante y Rivero Government Center stands out for its research, training and social projection. This center seeks to research, reflect and propose solutions in order to promote a humane and reconciled culture among citizens, which contributes to the development and common good in Arequipa.
